See below letters regarding our recent consultation with parent around the opening of Polden Bower Special School next year.
We are very excited to share that we are having a new school built. September 2020 is the date we hope to be opening the doors of our brand new purpose built school.
Our Post 16 are also moving. Our current primary school, Penrose, will be transformed into a Post 16 centre where young people can continue to develop employability and enterprise skills.
As part of the move to our new building Penrose and Elmwood schools will become one school. Once we move into our new building we will be called Poldon Bower school. Our Post 16 provision that will be based in the Penrose building will also be renamed.
The new school will be built on Bower Lane in Bridgwater and will be built to accommodate up to 160 pupils aged between 4 and 16 years.
School leaders have worked with the design team to ensure that the school design incorporates teaching, play, sport and therapy spaces.
