Could you offer your time as a mentor?

Over the last year, CSW Group has been working with 5 local secondary schools in Bridgwater including Elmwood school; with an aim to promote employability skills and the retention of talent in the local area. The work has included activities such as employer-led workshops, mock interviews, student mentoring and business networking. This is part of an initiative championed by the Bridgwater Education Trust, actively supported by many local businesses keen to champion tomorrow’s workforce.

These volunteers, and others like them, regularly provide mentoring for students who really value the chance to quiz professionals from outside their school network. Through this initiative the mentors also gain a great understanding of how schools function.

Their teacher, Jules Tabb said, “Students recognise they have value and are worth investing time and energy in. It is also a discovery journey of the talents these young people have. They found the morning quite a challenge but rose to it and came out the other end tired yet very pleased at their achievements”.

If you are interested in getting involved in one of these employer activities or becoming a mentor we’d love to hear from you – contact
