Community Inclusion

Students are offered lots of opportunities to access the community. They follow programmes of study about keeping themselves safe in the community, they meet people who can help them and they explore friendships and relationships. They link with other Sixth Form students from other schools and learn how to work with a range of different people in different settings. 

Students learn and explore the following:

  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Safety in the local community and online safety
  • Take part in volunteering projects within the community
  • Learn where to go for help in different situations i.e. doctors, police etc 
  • Use local facilities including, 
    • supermarkets and shops
    • sports facilities including the swimming pool, hydro-pool and gym
    • library, theatre and cinema
